my state of affairs

Ok, I'm starting my "get back into shape" campaign today. I want to lose 30 pounds. I can't diet - absolutely hate dieting. I must eat inherently unhealthy food to be "happy." Now, I'm not talking McDonalds and the likes. I'm talking BBQ ribs, chicken, sausage, and don't even get me started on the desserts!

Amy (my wife) and I are 34 weeks into our pregnancy. I think we are officially into the home stretch. As, a result, we are being homebodies for the most part and my weekend was spent cleaning and organizing the garage. I moved all my music equipment out into the garage - much to Amy's overwhelming approval - so I also resolve to practice more and groove when the feeling arises.

work this week is not looking very exciting. I'd say more, but for some funny reason I still feel like I'm talking behind peoples' backs by griping about work on a blog. Maybe that will fade the more posts I make, but for right now "work is great" (sarcasm).

I saw a big black bear on my way to work this morning. It was 7:15 in the morning - a little late in the morning for bears to be roaming the neighborhood. Good thing it is summer break because it was right in front of the entrance to the elementary school playgrounds. He couldn't find his way around the fence. He had two choices: right, taking him away from the school, across the road and into the wilds; or left, taking him into a fenced school yard that only exits into two different neighborhoods. He made the right choice...see ya big guy!

Summary: I'm way too fat. Four more weeks and I get to realize first-handed what my parents went through. I live in one of the few places in America where the morning commute involves yielding to a 500 lbs bear. Oh, and "work" is more Noun than Verb in my life right now.
